A holster isn’t an accessory to your gun. It’s life-saving equipment. It’s what lets you carry a handgun properly and safely, every single day.

A good holster covers the trigger guard, keeps your gun secure and in the same place every time, and lets you draw and re-holster smoothly. It does all of that while staying comfortable enough that you actually wear it. When any one of those fails, the whole system fails, and that’s why we treat holster design as seriously as the gun it carries.

We carry our own holsters 10 to 15 hours a day, so we know what works and what doesn’t. A holster that digs in, prints, or shifts is a holster you’ll leave in the drawer, and a holster you don’t carry can’t protect you. That’s why comfort is where every design starts.

From there, we build in everything else a carry holster has to do. Our experience in firearms instruction teaches us to put secure retention and full trigger guard coverage first. Competitive shooting has taught us to care about precision, down to the fit of every mold. And our security and protection backgrounds keep us focused on gear that works the way you expect, every time you reach for it.

The result is a holster that’s comfortable enough to wear all day and dependable enough to trust.

Premium Quality

Every Defcon 1 Gear holster is built by hand in Mesa, Arizona, in our own shop. We design our own molds instead of using off-the-shelf shapes. Each mold is made with comfort, a secure fit, and a clean draw in mind.

Because we carry our own holsters 10 to 15 hours a day, we shape and refine our designs by how they feel and perform in real daily use. We build every holster with minimum 0.80 KYDEX for IWB holsters and minimum .125 KYDEX for most OWB holsters

And when a standard shape won’t do, our 3D scanning service lets us build a mold from your exact firearm, light, and accessories.

Custom Options


Don’t see a holster for your gun? We can build one. Our 3D scanning service captures your firearm with its weapon light, optic, and accessories, then creates a mold from the scan for a precision fit. Scanning is done in store at our Mesa shop. Appointments are encouraged and walk-ins are welcome. Learn more about our custom and 3D-scanned holsters.
